Dental specialists complete two to six extra years of training after dental school and usually work on referral from a general dentist, although most accept patients who call directly. Orthodontists straighten teeth with braces and clear aligners; endodontists handle root canals; periodontists treat gum disease and place implants; oral and maxillofacial surgeons extract wisdom teeth, place implants and do jaw surgery, often under IV sedation; prosthodontists rebuild smiles with crowns, bridges and dentures; denture centers focus on full and partial dentures, relines and repairs. Sedation and hospital dentists serve anxious patients and people with special needs, while TMJ and sleep-apnea dentists make oral appliances for jaw pain and snoring.

Latham is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Latham is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with this orthodontic office. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and professional, and they consistently run on time, which we really appreciate. They take the time to answer our questions and make my son feel comfortable at every visit. His treatment has been going exactly as planned, and we’ve been very happy with the results so far. We highly recommend this office to anyone looking for quality orthodontic care!

Albany Braces (Latham location) is and continues to be fantastic. Since our son began with his orthodontics/braces they have been polite, professional and so kind. My son never complains about going because of how nice everyone is and the extra little touches they do like the tokens for kids to redeem for prizes and coloring competitions really do make a difference to kids. They are always gentle and he never complains about any significant pain or discomfort beyond what is normal and expected. My daughter will need braces in a few years and we will without a doubt be going back here for hers. I highly recommend anyone who needs braces especially if they have a child who needs braces to give them a visit! Thanks Albany Braces in Latham!

We have been bringing our daughter to Albany Braces for about a year now, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the very first visit, the entire team has been welcoming, professional, and incredibly kind. The office is always clean, organized, and runs on time. Every staff member takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure both parents and children feel comfortable. Our daughter actually enjoys coming to her appointments, which says a lot! The orthodontists are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about their patients. We've been very impressed with the progress of her treatment and the attention to detail they provide at every visit. If you're looking for an orthodontic office that combines excellent care with a friendly, supportive atmosphere, we highly recommend Albany Braces. We are so grateful to have found them and look forward to continuing our daughter's treatment there!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Albany Braces and especially Dr. Turner. She has been absolutely amazing with both of our daughters throughout their orthodontic journeys. One of our daughters has much more substantial issues involving her mouth and treatment will require coordination with several different specialists and doctors. Dr. Turner has gone above and beyond helping create a comprehensive plan and making sure every step is carefully thought out. What stands out most is that she truly cares and is fully invested in seeing the entire process through to the end. The entire staff at Albany Braces is friendly and professional, and the office is always welcoming. We are incredibly grateful for the care our family is receiving and would highly recommend Dr. Turner and Albany Braces to anyone looking for exceptional orthodontic care.
